Frank D. Bishop, JR., DMD

Meet Dr. Bishop

A native of Fitzgerald, Dr. Bishop was raised  on his family’s farm in South Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Georgia and then continued his education at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, where he earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree.

After two years practicing general dentistry in Augusta and working as faculty at the Medical College, Dr. Bishop returned to the Medical College of Georgia for a two year residency for specialty training in endodontics.

Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Bishop and his family moved to Watkinsville where he opened Oconee Endodontics. He has been and continues to be involved in dental research and publications, and is a current member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Athens Dental Society.

Dr. Bishop and his wife, Rebecca, live in Watkinsville and are the proud parents of Dennis and Annabeth. Outside the office, Dr. Bishop enjoys getting back “home” to Fitzgerald, cheering on the Dawgs with family and friends, and relaxing with his wife and children. He is a member of Watkinsville First Baptist church where he and his family worship and serve.
